Community Involvement

Dr. Sorenson's commitment to serving others began long before his optometry career, and it continues through his active involvement in the programs that reflect Boling Vision Center's mission to make eye care accessible to everyone in the community.

A Career of Service

Dr. Sorenson has been caring for patients since he graduated from high school. During his undergraduate years, he spent summer breaks working as an Emergency Medical Technician, providing care to a wide range of patients in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations. That early experience in emergency medicine gave him a clinical perspective and a calm under pressure that continues to serve his guests well today.

Kindness to Prevent Blindness

Dr. Sorenson volunteers for the K2PB mobile eye care unit, providing free eye exams and prescription glasses to students across Elkhart and St. Joseph County schools. Coming home to Northern Indiana after years away, the opportunity to contribute to the health and success of the children in his own community is one he embraces with genuine enthusiasm.

Beyond the Practice

Dr. Sorenson lives in the Michiana area with his wife, Kelsey, and their daughter, Reese, whom he describes as the center of a life he is very glad to be living back home. When he is not in the office, you are most likely to find him hiking, grilling, and spending time outdoors, the kind of active, present engagement with the world around him that translates directly into the energy and attentiveness he brings to his clinical practice.

After several years practicing in Indianapolis, Dr. Sorenson is genuinely glad to be back in Northern Indiana, building the kind of long-term community relationships that drew him to this work in the first place.
