My goal is to not only provide the best care possible, but also to know my patients on a personal level. I feel fortunate to work in a place that shares these same aspirations and feels like a family.

Community Involvement

Dr. Heil's commitment to her patients extends well beyond the exam room, reflected in her active volunteer work with two of the charitable programs closest to Boling Vision Center's mission.

Operation Sight

Dr. Heil volunteers as a surgeon for Operation Sight, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Foundation's charitable cataract surgery program, which matches eligible uninsured patients with volunteer surgeons who perform the procedure at no charge.

Her participation in this program reflects a deeply held belief that access to sight-restoring surgery should not be determined by a patient's financial circumstances.

Kindness to Prevent Blindness

Dr. Heil also volunteers for the Kindness to Prevent Blindness mobile eye care unit, traveling to schools across Elkhart and St. Joseph County to provide free eye exams and prescription glasses to students who need them.

Her involvement in K2PB reflects the same commitment to community that defines her clinical practice: showing up for the people who need care most, wherever that care is needed.

Beyond the Practice

Dr. Heil relocated to the Michiana area with her husband Ross, a gastroenterologist at IU Health Goshen, and their three young sons. She is thrilled to be part of a community she has embraced fully, both through her clinical work and through her volunteer contributions to the people and organizations that make Northern Indiana the kind of place worth calling home.

When she is not caring for guests or serving as a volunteer, Dr. Heil enjoys cycling and spending time with her family.
