Prior to pursuing the field of ophthalmology, Dr. Dietrich served with distinction as a Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force and Air National Guard, where he rose to the rank of Major. He provided care for pilots, guardsmen, and their families at bases across the U.S., Turkey, and Qatar—supporting NATO operations, leading disaster response teams, and safeguarding aircrew during missions aboard the KC-135, C-17, and C-130.

Following his military service, Dr. Dietrich completed his Ophthalmology residency at Brown University, where he built a strong foundation in both surgical and medical eye care. He shares, “There’s truly nothing that compares to the moment when someone’s vision is restored or significantly improved. It’s an immediate and deeply meaningful impact. But more than that, I enjoy the relationships I build with my patients—being able to connect, build trust, and walk with them through their vision journey. That’s the coolest part.”

These diverse experiences continue to shape Dr. Dietrich’s patient-first approach—one grounded in empathy, cultural awareness, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. He remains deeply committed to lifelong learning and evidence-based care, delivering exceptional outcomes while ensuring every guest feels seen, heard, and understood.
